The Politics Of Curvy Clothing

The landscape of natural beauty has  been placed under a shadow cast by the corridors of power in the world of fashion. The tsunami of negative connotations and belligerent assault onto all that was curvy resulted in the very definition of beauty to be reshaped and straightened to a point where what was once plebeian is now in vogue and that which was alluring is now shunned. With it, curvy clothing had sunk to the depths of obscurity.

Curvy clothing is emblematic of a shape that attracted praise and admiration from the every great master to hold a brush. Even da Vinci's critical eye held beauty to the standard of curves. Want proof? Look at the Mona Lisa. If these aren't curves, well then the Nile isn't long. With the suppression of what was naturally beautiful, it was easy for an industry craving for similarity and uniformity to introduce forms that were easy to design, simpler to manufacture and cheaper to ship. The result - increased profits.

The theme painted by the fate of curvy clothing on the canvas of human civilization is systemic and indicative of what we have done to all things that are good and decent around us in the name of profit. Everything around us that was ince considered beautiful and pure has now been soiled so that one can profit. Take curvy clothing for example, the fitness and fashion industry is measure, not in the millions, not even in the billions. It is measure in the trillions globally. Some countries have national budgets in fractions of these numbers. Fashion is a major factor of the GDP.

The motive of profit has decimated more than just curvy clothes in its pursuit of the all-mighty bottom line. From schools of fish in oceans far away to pollution from non-renewable resources to even the destruction of fresh water supplies has all been attributed to the need of the few to attain profit over the need of the masses to survive.

The curvy clothing saga is but the tip of the ice burg. The seemingly inconsequential treatment, even to the point of something being cruelly sarcastic, has resulted in unthinkable heights of profit. Scaling such peaks was never meant to be part of man's design, intelligent or otherwise. Everyone, needs to throw the brakes on and stop this catastrophic addiction to all things predefined for profit and ask ourselves, what is it we know to be true. Our answer will most invariable always be, curvy clothing and the people who don them are indeed beautiful.

The sudden leap of the fashion industry into the oversized clothing section has seen an enormous increase in the options available to those who need such clothes. The increasing customer demand and a prospective market together have made sure that this sector is not going to take a slumber for a long time to come.

With the multitude of options available, it is still easy to go wrong when it come to a right choice in plus sized clothing. Creating an elegant look with plus sized clothing also depends on the fabrics, prints and patterns. Not all types will make your figure look flattering. You must make sure that you consider these features well before buying the clothes. This is because although you might be exploring through garments exclusively manufactured for larger people, it is quite possible that they might do more harm than an ill-fitting piece of cloth in terms of sight as each and every individual differs in what they can carry off best.

The lengths as well as cuts of the dresses are also crucial features in plus size clothing that should not be overlooked. Both these features can contribute to making you look thinner and taller. Although a medium length dress will suit almost all plus size wearers, you can experiment with shorter or longer clothes depending on your figure.

Once you have understood your figure well and considered all the adequate features which your plus sized clothing should need, you can go about shopping for the perfect set of clothes which will make you stand out in any crowd.

History Of Plus Size Clothing

Clothing, in any form, be it plus size clothing or just animal skin, is most certainly a human distinction. Although one could argue that animals that grow feathers are indeed growing a form of clothing themselves. The answer to that could only be conclusively and objectively answered if the definition of the functions clothing needed to satisfy. As a basic requirement, clothing needs to protect us to a certain degree from the elements. Clothing has been traced back by archeologists using carbon dating methods to as far back as 5000 BC.

However, even though the evidence only traces back 7000 years, there is sufficient reason to believe that plus size clothing, or some variation of it was used almost 650,000 years ago. Even if it may be a bit of a stretch to date it that far back, other scientific methods using lice have determined that there is evidence to suggest that clothing dated back to 190,000 years ago. As we trace this history back, it occurs that plus size clothing does have multiple uses. First, all clothing, protects us from the elements as well as maintained a stable body temperature. Second, clothing, provides camouflage (during the hunter-gatherer) days. That slowly evolved into something that was a status symbol. Whether it was a simple loin cloth or something that acted as a simple way to cover up, the effects were that clothes were used to protect.

As civilisation carried on, we became involved with stature and as such, the clothes followed suite. Fast forward to today, clothes can be categorised into two segments, regular clothing and plus size clothing.  However, the preoccupation with all the externalities of clothes has detracted the original necessity of clothing. It is no longer about covering up and being protected from the environment. We have houses now with heating and ventilation. Cars that are temperature controlled and so on. So the argument that its primarily for protection from the elements is no longer valid. The next thing is that it was a status symbol.

As far as status symbols are concerned, it didn't really matter if it was plus size clothing or not. It was just for style. Form over function. The human body has evolved so far in the 650,000 years since the first protective covering that we now wear clothing because it feels uncomfortable not to do so. Wearing plus size clothing has become second nature.

A Greco-Roman's View Of Plus Size Clothing

In the modern world of contemporary art and space-age transportation and personal computers and technologies so complex, we are able to recreate miniature black-holes. Compared to that, it would seem that the human mind is just another frontier left to conquer. Like Caesar marching north through Gaul, scientist have marched north and attempted to conquer the deep recesses of the mind.

Scientists and psychologists have found ways to convince the unprotected mind of almost anything. From subliminal persuasion to using sex in messages, advertisers can sway public opinion, change fast impressions and alter the consumer's desires as effortlessly as turning on a light bulb. With this knowledge they moved plus size clothing out of the mainstream and replaced it.

Plussize clothing was the anchor that women of voluptuous curves hung on to to accentuate their beauty. But with the tide of opinion moving toward the Size 6s it was hard for a larger women to not be convinced she needed to go a size smaller. One thing holds true in apparel, the proper size of clothing, when well tailored makes the person look elegant. Even a pale, cadaverous frames look alive and well when dressed in eloquently designed clothes, so to, the same applies to plus size clothing.

However, with more an more people trying to down size their dress size, the plus size designers did not find the profit in producing countless styles and colors and so began the slippery slope journey to oblivion for plus size clothing. A  simple decision to target women's psyche because it was common knowledge that it was easier to part money from a women than from a man. Combine that with the fact that women, predominantly, are more sensitive to their appearance and what results is a combustible cocktail with the power to move the mind.

As the mind goes, so do the hands. People are easily manipulated into action once the mind has been convinced of something. In this case the world's mind was convinced that being skeletal was best. The day of the curvy goddess was in the rear view mirror and fading fast and plus size clothing with her. Anchises would be so disappointed with the turn of events since the the love of his life, Aphrodite was most certainly curvy. After all she was the Greek goddess of  love and beauty. If she adorned plus size clothing, who are we to differ?
